J. David Cornett, PhD
President, Agro Tech Solutions, LLC
Driven by a lifelong passion for science, David Cornett embarked on an academic journey immediately after graduating as part of Columbine High School’s first graduating class. He earned a BS, MS, and PhD, developing expertise in Agronomy and Classical Plant Physiology, with specialized knowledge in plant biochemistry, plant nutrition, soil chemistry, and controlled environments.

David’s curiosity and unconventional approach have led him to work on space-related plant growth research in two distinct roles. He contributed to developing a gas exchange model for closed-system growth chambers and later monitored controlled-environment plant growth aboard the Space Shuttle.

In recent years, David has pioneered a water-based cannabinoid extraction method for Cannabis, played a key role in identifying industrial hemp varieties suited to the American Southeast, and explored industrial applications of hemp.

Currently, he is expanding these innovations beyond hemp, focusing on recovering and converting stored chemical energy from plant waste into renewable energy sources, paving the way for sustainable advancements in bioenergy.

Max Howell
CEO, Agro Tech Solutions, LLC
A native of Prattville, AL, Max Howell has built a career defined by excellence, leadership, and innovation across multiple industries. Awarded athletic scholarships to both Auburn University and Troy State University, he earned BS and MS degrees in Secondary Education and School Finance, respectively.
Max first pursued his passion for football coaching, achieving success at both the high school and college levels. He contributed to a state championship team and coached a young Emmitt Smith before moving to the collegiate ranks. At Troy State, he helped secure the school's first NAIA National Championship, and at Florida State University, he was part of an NCAA National Championship-winning team under Bobby Bowden, coaching future NFL Hall of Famers Deion Sanders and LeRoy Butler. In recognition of his contributions, he was inducted into the Troy University Hall of Fame in 2020.
Beyond athletics, Max leveraged his education to become a high school principal and later served as statewide Superintendent and Director of Private Schools in Alabama, overseeing 67 schools.
His career then took an unexpected turn into sports broadcasting, where his insight and charisma made him one of the most listened-to sports radio personalities in Atlanta (1993–2004). He later played a pivotal role in the development of the predecessors to the SEC TV Network, now a premier sports media outlet.
Max’s business acumen, leadership, and people skills have now led him to the role of CEO at Agro Tech Solutions, where he continues to drive innovation and success.
The decision to separate the roles of President and Chief Executive Officer for Agro Tech Solutions was not a difficult one. David and Max have very different backgrounds and skills sets, but they are distinctly complimentary. David and Max recognized early that each was uniquely suited to address the weaker aspects of the other, and that these different “halves” provided the basis of a more complete whole with respect to the needs of a growing, cutting-edge business.
Please feel free to contact either David or Max with any questions you may have.
